Dear Evelyn:
If my guess is right, Sir Gerald’s next off week-end comes the 28th and if he’s an honest man he is planning to come over on that date, well on Fri. the 27th the club that Hubert has belonged to for the last five years is having its annual dance. We would like for you all to come over for it if its possible and if you can’t I’d rather you waited untl another week-end because every one we know will be going to that dance and of course they won’t be in the mood for anything on the following night so if you came on Sat after the dance there would be no fun at all.
If Gerald can scare up a Tuxedo fromsome where I think you all should manage some way to come.
I believe Hol has a tux that he had before he got so fat. And Buster Delaney has one so if you can get off at that time try to make Gerald so something about it. We would enjoy having you so much and I believe you would enjoy it.
I’m not writing all this to him because he’d probably just tell you that I was sick or some silly reason for not coming and just not try to come for the dance.
Anyway if you can’t make it I’m going to look forward to it beign the next week-end and I’m sure you understand how it is.
Every one was disappointed that you all didn’t get here last week-end, I had them come on anyway and we played black-jack.
