Don’t think I’m entering a letter-writing contest, but just wanted you to know when I started talking to you a little bit ago, one of your “Calhoun neighbors” cam in and sit down by me – causing all the stammering, etc. That’s my luck though.

Another thing I want you to know – its really been a LONG TIME since last Thursday night. I mean it. I didn’t hardly get to see you last week-end. So it seems its going to be the same way again this one. But still Evelyn is an e-l-e-c-t-r-i-c-i-t-y girl, and she has to carry on.

Evelyn, its asking a lot, but please try to get my name in the “little red book” sometime this week-end.

I wonder if you wore the new blue dress to B’ham with the sleeves out at the shoulders, or plain like any ordinary girl would have them.
