5-26-1938 W V Owen to Miss Evelyn Carter
Envelope:
Miss Evelyn Carter,
Cedartown, Ga.
Postmark: 5-26-1838 Calhoun Ga.
Thursday Noon
Evelyn -
Just to let you know I left your report with Mr. Parish at the Forrest and he assured me it would be a pleasure to mail it for you, so M.M. received the “quota” without delay.
I enjoyed the date and think of it was very kind of you to let me come over. Whenever you have another opening on your schedule, drop me a line or reverse the “60 c” call, and Cedartown bound I’ll be.
If you have time Saturday, after your “Bertha appointment” and the other one, come by the store ‘cause I’m already wanting to see my Evelyn, “ear burning” or “no ear burning.”
I’m for “no hang-overs”-“big & better stocks” of jewelry, and if it were only possible, more “Evelyn Carters.” That’s a damn good platform don’t you think?
Your buddy
Willie V.
P.S. As soon as I can make a little more money, I’ll send you the “sixty cents,” which you were aching about. [aching may actually be “asking” – I’m not sure]
