Versatility is a desirable quality in many things, and is a feature appreciated in electrical appliances – yet we have one appliance that its advertized and publicized name destroys this very feature. I have found this true with a great many customers in connection with the portable oven which we sell as a roaster.

Actually the appliance is versatility itself, because in a small compact portable unit you have a form of heat that can be utilized for roasting, baking, cooking whole meals, steaming, and even broiling. Every type heat involved in the cooking processes can be employed.

Until recently I had not realized the possibility of the roaster as a complete cooking device. Yet I find that once a customer is shown the varied uses of the roaster they readily buy its advantages of cool, clean, economical electrical cooking.

This one idea has resulted directly in the sale of eleven roasters. Some of these roasters were sold to be used as the only means of cooking, others were sold to range owners who realized the value of the roaster when the holiday season & special occ. demanded more elaborate & bountiful meals or as an economical appliance when only bread was to be baked for the noonday meal – others have been sold to customers who owned other types of ranges that do not afford the cool & clean features that a roaster does.

I sold one roaster to a State Highway employee wife. She was impressed by this fact that even though portable which was essential since they move so frequently, did a complete cooking job.

Another I sold to a 75 yr old Grandmother who was doing her cooking in a stove pipe oven. She was delighted with the meal I prepared and exclaimed “That is just what I will need when the grand children visit me Christmas.” She told me recently that they were delighted with the cookies and the usual things we all expect to find at all Grandmothers.
